Welcome to Top Gun Autos! We are a small, family run workshop with over 40 years of experience.
Paul started his training in Palmers Green, London, where he rose through the ranks, eventually running the garage within three years. Paul then set up shop in Newquay, Cornwall, where he fell in love with the Cornish countryside. Work took Paul back to Essex where he worked for ten years before opening a workshop in Camden Town, undertaking bodywork and repairs for high-end clients and main agents. Moving north to Staffordshire, Paul continued to build on his success as a highly skilled auto body technician and garnered a reputation for his classic car restoration work.
Paul has now settled back in Cornwall and opened a workshop in Truro with his partner, Amanda. Amanda, born and raised in Cornwall, runs the front of house, but can often be found lending a hand in the workshop too!

Did you know we also do repairs on Caravans? We have a Secure lock up with security cameras to house them while we are carrying out repairs, so you know you are in safe hands!

We removed all mouldings bumpers etc then removed the rust, repaired the dents, prepped the van for primer then prepped for paint.
Firstly we painted it all white, then painted shuts and doors two tone. We masked off to paint the mint green before lacquering the whole vehicle and giving it a full valet!
The Mercedes above came in with dents and rust. We removed all fittings/mouldings and repaired dents and rust. We primed, prepped and resprayed the car body before it was machine polished & refitted all the parts.
Finally we cleaned, waxed and valeted. One Delighted Customer!
Headlight Restoration
Vehicles headlights come under heavy scrutiny during an MOT. They will fail the MOT test if they even show the wrong colour of light, are cloudy and/or yellowed.
You need to restore that crucial night time visibility as well as give your vehicle’s appearance a refresh.
Here at Top Gun Autos we flatten them back, polish and give them a restoration process to get them MOT ready.
Price is from £25 a headlight.
The owner of this Mini Cooper came to us for a colour personalisation and look at the result! The roof and wing mirrors have been painted cherry red to complement the blue.
We do all repairs on bike panels, cars, vans, campervans, caravans, and light commercial vehicles.
We prepared and resprayed this BMW Racing Bike panel ready for racing on Spain’s Almeria Formula1 Race Track!
The Porsche above came in for a repair following an accident.

Exceptional service and work! So good I’ve taken both mine and my partners cars here for work. I booked my partners Fiat 500 in after a deer jumped in front of it, the guys here managed to repair and respray the front end to a really high standard. My own BMW had been keyed so deep it required a re-spray, again the work done was very very good. I would 100% recommend the Topgun Autos to any of my friends and family.

Just had my old Peugeot 205 resprayed, fabulous job, would definitely recommend, nothing was rushed, would definitely use again, great work the car looks like new, time and effort has to be used to get such a high standard. The car will be at the next classic car show, it looks as though its just been driven out of the peugeot factory, the paint job is that good

Absolutely shocking job was going so well, returned vehicle whilst still on hired trailer wasn’t prepared to rectify his dodgy workmanship
Roof lining left in a right mess tailgate not even wired back in after they removed it, damaged rear bumper whilst getting it out there workshop on a jack
All this for £3500 / £1000 more than quoted paid in full
Oh and broke the window screen whilst fitting & blocked me from commenting on fb page so we can’t leave review

We estimated the car when it was pouring with rain of which the car was parked between a lorry and a wall so we couldn’t get around it plus it had a cover over it.
All we could see were a few light dents and a 2nd hand bonnet not bolted on.
At Topgun when the old plastic trim was removed from around the wheel arches and the wheel arches and the spoiler from the rear tailgate the volume of rust was apparent. It needed new wings and a tailgate that the owner refused to buy.
We spent months welding metal plates to the wheel arches, remade part of the skin and the frame of the tailgate. The customer kept asking us to do loads more work which was nothing to do with the original job. Like welding new mounting brackets for the front seats to the floor. When we lifted the carpet the floor was rotten.
We welded new floor pan into the floor.
Putting the head lining into the car and replacing the windows that were already out of the car when it came into us and the bodykit was not for us to fit.
He was told by us as he would by any wind screen company that removing or replacing screens there is a high risk of them cracking or breaking which it did.
He wasn’t shocked or upset by a minor crack and was going to get another screen anyway he said.
We told him that he needed new body kit this one wouldn’t go on. He asked us to fit it for him as he was suffering with an illness of which we did for him.
The headlining was not like that when it left our premises. It’s where someone has been trying to fit wires to the tail gate.
Original quote of £3,500 for one weeks work for a respray. We did say we had discounted the price because of his illness and it was during covid and he said his Fairground Business had suffered badly and we felt a bit sorry for him.
After many, many months of restoration we only charged him the original quote.
We didn’t charge him for the numerous extra hours worked or amount of materials used.
You can see the result of our good deed by his comments all because he had to only pay the original quote of £3.500
He loaded the vehicle onto the trailer himself and it was his responsibility to unload it from the trailor not ours. So if anything was damaged it was down to them.
