The reason we chose Players Plumbing to install our walk-in shower, was due to an excellent online prescence, 100% positive reviews, and a recommendation from a local bathroom store. All of which demonstrates Lewis Player’s capabilities of providing a good service to the national NVQ2 standard. As I am disabled, with 3 pending orthopaedic operations, the need for a safe walk-in shower facility was essential. In April this year, Lewis Player left us with a litany of installation issues (see photos) and has also failed to honour his own company terms and conditions regarding guaranteed workmanship and materials. We supplied 90% of the materials which are now beyond retrievable use, especially the beautiful wall and ceiling panels. Everything has to be removed as he failed to plum and square the walls. He installed a damaged shower tray, leaving it skewed. However he smashed the glass shower screen, which exploded into the tray (we are still finding glass in other rooms!) which is the most likely cause of the damage! The whole installation is asymmetrical to the eye and bodged. He assured us he would make it watertight, but his sealant skills are atrocious: gaps and holes were evident which are now filled with black mould, regardless of adequate ventilation.The corners look like chewing gum and can’t be be cleaned, harbouring germs. It’s an absolute mess and unfit for purpose. TBF to Lewis, he offered to pay for a 3rd party plumber to fix it, but capped the costs at his original quoted amount, which does not cover the damage to our property or the materials that cannot be reused. We don’t know what he has done under the tray, which is where the mould is coming from and to put things right a 3rd party, also has to be paid for dismantling his work, put all the wrongs right and we have to buy all the required materials again! We don’t have the money to do all this and I am left with a disgusting, mouldy shower, that is neither healthy or safe! I am devastated and disgusted. I have my first operation in 3 weeks time, and Lewis Player has left me in an untenable situation, which is unhygienic, a risk to health and post operative healing and an expensive bodged mess!

Lewis has been fantastic on a number of occasions including coming to our rescue when another plumber left us in the lerch without fixing a waste pipe. Lewis agreed to come straight after his working day to sort it.
He then fitted an outside tap for us on our garage, very efficient job.
He is currently working on the plumbing for an outbuilding we are turning into an extra bedroom which also includes fitting the ensuite.

Cannot recommend Players Plumbing enough, he came round within half an hour of calling him on a weekend day. Problem was loo not flushing properly, he knew what the problem was and replaced an up to date flush system, which he brought with him. Working quickly and very tidy, the fault was fixed within an hour and very reasonably priced. Will be calling them if we need a plumber again.

Needed a plumber to fix a pipe after putting a screw through a water pipe. Contacted Lewis via the Checkatrade website and had a quick reply. Lewis responded quickly and came out in the early evening. He was polite, friendly, professional and easy to talk to. It was not a straight forward repair due to the close proximity of other pipes but he was able to make a permanent repair. Given this happened on a Sunday evening he provided a fantastic service and at a very reasonable rate. Thank you Lewis and I would highly recommend his services.

I first contacted Lewis last year for a quote for an outside tap after moving into a bungalow. But due to convid 19 and my own finances etc I wasn’t able to book the work. Then on Easter Sunday 2021 I contacted him again and ask for new quote and possible installation. He responded really quickly that afternoon even tho it was a weekend and Easter Sunday. 4 days later the tap was installed in a very professional manner and he went out his way to ensure the tap was located in my preferred location. What a find! Arrived at the agreed time and after surveying the problems, set about correcting timer and replacing Immersion tank element. So impressed, we asked if he wanted to change some sink taps while here, no problem! Completed in no time without fuss.
Apart from being a really, really nice fella, his work quality was exceptional and attention to cleanliness superb. More work will be going his way without a doubt.
