As a family man, turning my house into a home has always been something I have taken pride in, especially as my favourite thing is coming home from work to my wife and four children. I have a keen eye for noticing the changes that could be done that are often missed. Providing people with the renovations to transform their houses to the homes they have dreamed of and creating spaces that bring other families happiness is what I love.
From extensions to decorating, tiling to bespoke garden seating areas, I can provide an abundance of services. I can work on both indoor and outdoor projects and I also have experience in supplying and installing renewable energy, including underfloor heating, solar thermal hot water systems and thermodynamics. Having worked in construction for over twenty years I have gained a huge skill set perfect for making your renovation ideas a reality.

From accompanying us on a second viewing of what is now our property, to completing its extensive and complex renovation, Richard has proved to be extremely knowledgeable, reliable and honest. Preserving the character and integrity of an uninhabitable house, whilst also modernising it to our taste, was no mean feat. From installing bifold doors in the old, two feet thick stone walls, lifting huge slate flags to install underfloor heating (and then replacing them!) to tiling bathrooms in a herringbone pattern demonstrates Richard’s versatility and skill. Throughout the project, Richard advised us on design and the best way to allocate our budget, as well as introducing us to tradesmen whom we would not hesitate to use again. We are delighted with our new home and cannot recommend Richard highly enough to anyone considering any type of renovation work.

We decided to use Richard for our new bathroom after a recommendation from a work colleague. From the moment he came to look at the job and talk about what we wanted to achieve it was clear he was a competent tradesman and had the skills to deliver the results we were looking for. He always updated us daily how the process was going and most importantly brought our vision to reality. The finished bathroom was actually better than we had expected!

Richard replaced an old driveway for me with a good thick sub base and a gravel top. In order to hide some old concrete paths he used a special resin glue which had locked the gravel over the concrete so it doesn’t move much at all. Really neat and level no more swimming pool when it rains. Worked very tidy and to a very high standard. Always recommended this is the second job he has done for me the first being a bathroom.

We can highly recommend Richard, as he just finished lifting and retiling all of the tiles in our dining and kitchen areas (they were loose and moving around when we walked on them) and he also installed wall units and a work top, as well as a tiled splash back in our toilet/utility. He was great to work with- so helpful and obliging; he communicated really well, keeping us up to date with his plan and work throughout; and he did everything to a very high standard! Plus, he’s also a really nice guy which never hurts! We’re very glad we chose to work with Richard!

Richard has transformed a very old dated bungalow in to a brand new home, Every room has been renovated to a very high standard including a beautiful new kitchen breakfast room and a large luxurious shower replacing the old bathroom and separate toilet. All this achieved in only 11 weeks, Richard was onsite every day from 8 until 5 without fail.
He also has the best team of contractors to support him by way of electrician, plasterer and plumber.

We can’t recommend Richard highly enough! Richard listened to our plans, made useful suggestions based on his experience and skills, and was always clear on the scope of the work that he was willing to carry out. Richard always left our downstairs tidy after each day, and he is a meticulous worker. He kept us in the loop as works continued so that we could not only see progress, but also talk about any changes we wanted to make in terms of materials and spec. It was very clear what Richard’s quote included and he worked really efficiently to make the most of his time.
For us, this project was based around creating more storage in our basement area by moving a stud wall, thereby reducing the size of the spare bedroom but creating a space for bikes, hoovers, tools etc. Richard also created a cupboard under our stairs and helped us to finish off the skirting boards in another room. This project has enabled us to make better use of the downstairs rooms.
The standard of Richard’s work is excellent and we couldn’t have asked for any more. In fact, we are already thinking about what else we can get him to do for us!

Can’t recommend Richard highly enough, we had a fairly big project of a complete kitchen renovation Inc wall removals and moving plumbing around. What seemed an impossible job, started months before the actual job with Rich willing to visit and inspect and view problems that had arisen and give advice. Then the job itself, he is polite, punctual, communication is great and his work ethic is second to none, clean and tidy and can work around any problems that arise. The job was in budget and finishes within the two week timescale given. Happily recommend him to anyone looking for work being done.

Richard has just renovated my bathrooms and they look wonderful. Wall tiling, floor tiling, furniture replacement and building – all finished to the highest standards. Living in a Victorian house, renovations can be unpredictable but Richard overcame all the problems calmly and with total professionalism, he was a pleasure to have around. He has also completed external work for us, replacing a driveway and landscaping around it – we love the result. I cannot recommend him highly enough! He always arrives on time, he is accommodating to tenants and they always report back how friendly and helpful he was. Work is always carried out to an exceptional standard and left very clean and tidy. Richard recently cut a doorway out of a wall at my own home which was extremely dusty but he hoovered up and there was not a speck of dust left at the end of the day! Impressive!

Richard has just installed a much-needed loft ladder for me. He arrived on time and completed the job with efficiency and care. A few weeks ago, he got rid of two dilapidated sheds for me, erected a new one and also built me a smart little patio. I would happily recommend him to anyone.

I had a number of jobs around the house that were beyond my abilities and I struggled to find someone who could do every little task I needed sorted. Richard was perfect. He sourced bits of materials that I needed as he knew better than me what to get, no job big or small was a problem. All the niggles I had been looking at for years were resolved no problem at all. Unsure what to do about an unattractive concrete path around our house without digging it up or breaching the damp proof course , we asked Rich to take a look. He came up with solutions for all the problems and at a reasonable cost. His work was really good, he communicated with us about all decisions and we are delighted by the outcome. A bonus is he is a tidy worker throughout the job and also left the site cleaner and tidier than it was when he arrived!! Would very happily recommend.
