We recently hired LMH Building to carry out some work on our home, which included cutting out part of a rear wall. This was done without any issues. We then fitted a new floor-to-ceiling UPVC frame and glass pane ourselves, and LMH Building returned to finish the external work and replace the wall tiles above the window.
Unfortunately, during this process, there was an accident where they claimed a tile was dropped, causing damage to our new UPVC frame. Upon inspection, we found a small chunk missing from the frame. LMH Building assured us they would arrange for this to be repaired. Trusting their word, we paid them in full on the same day the work was completed.
When the UPVC repair company came to assess the damage, they discovered that the new glass pane had also been damaged. We immediately informed LMH Building, and they agreed to replace the glass. We provided the required measurements, and they promised to order the replacement from their supplier.
Weeks later, after receiving no updates, we followed up several times. Eventually, they informed us that the glass had been ordered and would arrive in two weeks. However, we received no confirmation, and after more delays and ignored messages, we were told the paperwork had been lost and that we needed to resend the measurements.
At this point, LMH suggested it would be cheaper for us to order a completely new unit from our own supplier. By now, nine weeks had passed since the damage occurred. We offered to handle everything ourselves—ordering the glass, arranging a fitter, and repairing the UPVC—if LMH Building reimbursed us. They agreed to this, but after repeated follow-ups, they kept delaying payment, saying they would transfer the money in a few weeks.
After more ignored messages and further delays, they eventually told us they could not pay at the moment but would claim through their public liability insurance. We agreed, but despite numerous follow-ups, we have received no confirmation that they’ve even contacted their insurer.
We are utterly disgusted with how LMH Building has treated us. They have lied, ignored our messages, and dragged the situation out for over 12 weeks, leaving us with no resolution and no chance of the repairs being completed before Christmas, as we had requested.
To make matters worse, we reviewed our CCTV footage and found that it wasn’t just one tile that was dropped—it was several tiles, and TWICE. We could see from our CCTV that they had absolutely no protection in place to safeguard our brand-new UPVC frame and window.
This is an utterly appalling way to treat a customer’s property. Based on our experience, we would strongly advise anyone against using LMH Building. They are, quite frankly, unprofessional cowboys
