Lloyd is very proud to be able to say that he was born, educated, brought up, lived, worked and raised a family in Cornwall in an architectural career spanning more than 48 years. In that time, Lloyd has gained a wealth of experience working in some of the key Cornish architectural practices plus local government and from 2009 has run his own architectural consultancy, LLOYDS Architecture, based in Truro. To build a design team for the needs of a specific domestic extension and alterations project, Lloyd can call on a trusted network of other qualified specialist consultants where they may be required for mining survey, flood risk assessment, structural
engineering design, arboricultural consultants, bat and bird ecologists, specialist topographical surveyors, licensed asbestos surveyors etc.

His communication was excellent and often replied to emails within hours. He was knowledgeable, professional and could not have done more to put my ideas into detail with advice when appropriate. We first met Lloyd in 2022. His extensive knowledge was clear throughout, but most evident with his detailed and extensive submission to Cornwall Planning. The submission and supporting documents for an extension and conversion of garage to assisted living were accepted without question and we got approval first time. Given the location (world heritage, SSSI and Mining Heritage) that just proves how excellent Lloyd is at his profession. He responded to all questions without delay and produced the most detailed schedule of works. I’ve dealt with architects up country for over 40 years and never met one who would match Lloyds standards. we feel incredibly lucky to have found him and we recommend him without reservation.

Lloyd engages in conversations with a client by personal visit. During the conversations with the client, he absorbs all their requirements, makes mental and written notes, and produces detailed and accurate plans showing the project before any work is done, and also a set as he believes the client has described the finished project. He is happy to adapt to fulfil his client’s wishes, and to redraft the drawings as necessary. Importantly, Lloyd has developed excellent connections with other professionals whose advice is needed, such as structural engineers and builders. His work is detailed and meticulous, and I enjoyed our interactions very much.

Lloyd visited my home to discuss a complicated planning application process, his initial visit included listening to my brief and then going away to brainstorm some ideas. Lloyd sent me a very detailed price breakdown of his services for each stage. His design ideas were amazing and he hit the nail on the head with my requirements on the first sketch. I have lots of work going on at my house now and in the future and I will always ask Lloyd to design this for me.
