Groom Room & Doggy Daycare
This is your one stop shop for everything dog related.. please let me introduce myself, tell you about what I do, and how I got there.
My name is Jo – I’ve grown up with dogs and horses and have always been passionate about the animals in my life. For the last 20 years I’ve had rescued greyhounds – it started with Timmy and we’re now up to number 8 – Reggie.
In 2009 we “fostered” a beautiful but troubled greyhound girl called Lucy – she came to us temporarily, but I could see that she had some baggage that she needed help with.. I was determined to help her but couldn’t find the help or the answers that I needed so I embarked on a course that changed all our lives – I studied and qualified as a dog trainer.. and Lucy stayed with us, living her best life – she became my soul dog, my bestie.
Since 2010 I’ve been proud to be able to say I’m a dog trainer and have helped literally hundreds of dogs and their people get on the road to living their best lives with their dogs ❤️
GROOMING PACKAGES (prices correct February 2024)
- 1. Puppy package – 1 meet and greet & 3 x half hour sessions to introduce your puppy to grooming and being handled. Includes brushing/combing, bathing, trimming/clipping, nails & ears £75
- 2. Trim & Tidy – includes full brush/comb, trimming, finished off with Evening Primrose Oil coat conditioner. Starting from £25 small dog, £30 medium dog, £45 large dog. Include bath and blow dry for additional £15 small dog, £20 medium/large dog.
- 3. The Moulter – includes a bath & blowdry, full de-shed coat rake, trim and tidy. Starting from £40 small dog, £55 medium dog, £70 large dog.
- 4. Full Groom – includes bath, blow dry, coat clip, trimming, coat conditioning, ear clean. Starting from £45 small dog / £55 medium dog / £65 large dog.
- 5. Bath, blowdry & brush – with pawfume or Evening Primrose Oil coat conditioner. Starting from £25 small dog, £30 medium dog, £45 large dog.
- 6. Nervous dog sessions – a block of regular sessions designed so that your nervous dog can have regular visits to get to know me and the groom room environment and groom experience. Please contact directly to discuss individual requirements.
- 7. Mud Spa treatments – This skin wellness treatment is packed with mineral enriched Dead Sea salts, botanicals and omega oils known to release the undercoat and remove loose fur, eases skin irritations and “hot spots”. Please contact for further info and to discuss individual requirements.

DAYCARE
Aheadofthepack dog day care provides a safe, secure environment for your beloved dogs in our 3 acres of private land – your dog will have their days filled with playtimes in our secure garden attached to the day care building, and walks on the rest of our land to sniff and explore, and then their own comfy bed space for snooze times. Lots of treats..
We carefully assess each dog to ensure they will be happy, settle in with us, and get on with everyone by way of at least 2 half day visits before committing to a full day permanent place – all day care places are held all year round,
Rates vary according to how many days per week you book.
- We are not open on weekends or bank holidays, rates would be reduced to exclude bank holiday days.
- We do not cover over night boarding.
t&cs apply – dogs must be neutered, fully vaccinated including kennel cough, sociable. A registration form is required to book a place
*discount on regular grooming – package available to day care dogs for just £20

Took my dog Hugo too Jo for his first grooming session. He was very nervous ( big baby) . Jo was great and manage to make him feel comfortable enough so she could trim his nails . Will definitely be using groom room again .

George hates having his claws clipped. Jo was so patient with him and got them filed down with some gentle coaxing. She is very experienced in dealing with anxious dogs so is a great person to be grooming your dog.
George has been going to daycare with Jo for several years – it is his second home and he is always excited to go and have a great time.

My JR Panda visited Jo today for a spa treatment. I have to say that after his de-shed bath, body scrub and dry his coat definitely feels much softer. It was his first ever visit to a groomer and he was understandably a bit fidgety but Jo was very patient with him and his tail never stopped wagging. Definitely recommend the spa treatment .
